Getting started
What is Finton?
Finton is a Swedish personal-finance app that gathers your accounts, categorises transactions automatically and shows insights into where your money goes. You can also choose to fetch insurance and bank details for a more complete picture. The goal is a clear overview and concrete next steps – without spreadsheets or manual bookkeeping.
How do I get started?
Download Finton from the App Store or Google Play, create an account and connect your bank with BankID. Most people see their first overview within a few minutes after the connection is complete.
Is Finton available for both iPhone and Android?
Yes. Finton is in the App Store for iOS and on Google Play for Android. You can use the same account on several devices.
Do I have to connect a bank to try it?
To see your real finances you need to connect at least one account via Open Banking. The connection uses BankID and you can remove access in the app at any time if you want to pause or stop.
Security and bank connection
How do I connect my bank account?
Open the app, choose to add an account and sign in with BankID via your bank. Finton then gets read access to account data via a certified Open Banking provider – we never see your bank password.
Is my bank information safe?
Yes. The connection uses BankID via regulated Open Banking APIs. Finton only has read access, stores data securely in the EU (Google Cloud, region europe-north2) and cannot move money or make payments for you.
Can Finton move money or pay bills?
No. Finton cannot initiate payments, transfers or change anything on your accounts. The app also cannot take out, cancel or change insurance for you – it reads data to show overview and insights.

The list is updated when new institutions are added through our Open Banking partner. If your bank is missing, contact us at [email protected] and we will help you from there.
How often are my transactions updated?
Transactions are fetched automatically and updated regularly without you needing to sign in every day. You can also pull to refresh in the app if you want the latest data immediately.
Why did I lose the connection to my bank?
Open Banking connections can expire or need to be renewed for security reasons, for example after the bank’s policy or if you changed BankID device. Sign in again via the app and the connection is usually restored in a few seconds.
Where is my data stored?
Data is processed and stored securely in the EU (Google Cloud, region europe-north2). More about what information we collect, retention periods and your rights is in our privacy policy at finton.app/en/privacy-policy and terms of use at finton.app/en/terms.
Features and insights
Are my expenses categorised automatically?
Yes. Finton places purchases in categories such as food, housing, transport and subscriptions so you quickly see where the money goes. You can adjust categories if something ended up in the wrong place.
Can I connect several accounts?
Yes. You can connect several accounts and get a combined view of your finances. That is especially useful if you have a salary account, savings account and cards from different banks.
What is Finton Score and how should I read it?
Finton Score is a way to follow how your finances develop over time based on patterns in your transactions. It is a guiding measure – not a credit decision – that helps you see whether you are moving in the right direction.
Does Finton help me find unnecessary expenses?
The app highlights anomalies, recurring costs and spending drivers that stand out, so you can more easily prioritise what is worth reviewing first.
Does Finton share my finances with others?
We do not sell your transaction data. To deliver the service we share necessary data with trusted subprocessors — for example Enable Banking (bank connection), certified providers for insurance and bank details, Gokind (categorisation) and OpenAI (optional AI chat) — according to our privacy policy and under data processing agreements. We do not share your finances with third parties for their own marketing.
Insurance and bank details
Do I have to connect insurance?
No. It is completely optional and separate from the bank connection for transactions. You choose if and when you want to fetch insurance and bank details in the app.
How do I fetch insurance details?
Start the flow in the app and identify yourself with BankID. Finton can then show premiums, cover and renewal dates in the same overview as your transactions.
Can I fetch bank details beyond transactions?
Yes. You can fetch details on mortgages, personal loans, savings, investments and private pensions. That also uses BankID and only grants read access.
Can Finton change my insurance or loans?
No. Finton can only read and display information. The app cannot take out, cancel or change contracts for you.
Is it safe to fetch insurance details?
Yes. Identification uses BankID in a secure flow. Finton only receives the information needed to show your overview and stores it securely according to our privacy policy.
How do I remove insurance or bank-detail data?
You can clear fetched data in the app or delete the whole account under Settings. When the account is deleted, saved insurance and bank-detail data is also removed from our systems.
Pricing and business model
What does Finton cost?
Finton is free to download and try. Core features for overview and insights should be available without you paying up front. Any future premium features are communicated clearly before you activate them.
How does Finton make money?
Finton may earn revenue through affiliate links. That means we sometimes show products or services from partners – for example savings accounts, loans or insurance – that may be relevant to your finances. If you click a link and become a customer we may receive a commission from the partner, at no extra cost to you. We only highlight suggestions we consider meaningful and you always choose whether to go further.
Do affiliate links affect the recommendations I get?
Affiliate partnerships help fund the service, but they should not steer the analysis of your finances. Insights about your spending and patterns are based on your own transaction data – not on whether we have a partnership.
Is my data sold to make money?
No. We do not sell your bank transactions or personal finance data to advertisers. Revenue may come from partnerships when you actively choose to continue via a link, or in the future from optional paid features that are clearly presented in the app.
Account and support
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings in the app and choose to delete your account. Your data – including transactions, insurance and bank details – is then deleted from our systems; any copies in backup can take up to 30 days to clear completely. You can also contact support if you need help.
Can I remove a bank connection without deleting the whole account?
Yes. You can disconnect individual accounts or banks in the app whenever you want, without closing your whole Finton account.
Who do I contact if something does not work?
Write to [email protected] or use the support page at finton.app/en/support. Please mention which bank and device you use so we can help faster.
Ready to try it?
Download Finton for free and connect your account with BankID in a few minutes. You can remove the connection whenever you want.
